1. The Short Version
302.sh makes links shorter — it must never make them dishonest. Every link you create has to point where it says it points, at content that is legal and safe for the person who clicks it. Creating a link is your agreement to this policy and to our Terms of Service. Links and accounts that break the rules face escalating consequences, described below.
2. What Is Never Allowed
You may not create, edit, or import links that point to — or route any visitor segment to — any of the following:
- Phishing and credential harvesting — fake login pages, brand impersonation, or anything designed to trick visitors into revealing passwords, payment details, or personal data
- Malware — malicious downloads or software installed without informed consent
- Scams — fraud, fake giveaways, tech-support scams, counterfeit storefronts
- Spam and bulk unsolicited messaging
- Content that infringes others’ rights
- Child sexual abuse material or any other illegal content
- Evading our safety measures, bans, or previous enforcement actions
These rules cover every destination a link can resolve to — device, geography, and language variants, A/B split targets, and destinations changed after the link was created. Pointing a clean link at prohibited content later is the same violation as creating it that way.
3. How We Enforce This
Links are subject to safety screening using automated systems and manual review, at creation and afterwards. When a link violates this policy, we act at two levels.
What happens to the link
- Visitors may see a warning page before the redirect completes
- The link may be disabled or permanently removed
- The destination may be blocked from being shortened again by anyone
What happens to your account
Enforcement is graduated. Each violation lowers your account standing, and consequences escalate with it:
- Warning — a notice appears in your dashboard. Nothing is blocked yet.
- Creation paused — repeated violations temporarily suspend link creation and editing, from days up to several weeks. Your existing compliant links keep working.
- Suspension — continued abuse permanently suspends the account. All of its links stop resolving normally, and we may refuse future service. A suspension never expires on its own — it is lifted only by a successful appeal.
Severe violations — phishing, malware, illegal content — can skip the ladder entirely and result in immediate suspension. We may also report abuse to hosting providers, browser and search-engine safety programs, and law enforcement.
Short of suspension, standing recovers on its own: stay clean and warnings and creation pauses lift over time. You can check your current standing on your account page.
4. If We Got It Wrong
Automated screening has false positives, and we would rather hear about them than let them stand. If a link or your account was actioned in error, appeal from the notice shown in your dashboard, or write to support@302.sh. A person reviews every appeal. When we reverse a decision, the link is restored and your account standing is credited back.
5. Reporting Abuse
If you believe a 302.sh link is being used for phishing or anything else on the list above, report it to support@302.sh with the short link and what you observed. We review reports promptly and act on confirmed abuse.
